“Demoncore” is an eclectic single/video, fusing various subgenres of metal with goth, industrial, deathcore, and hip hop. His growl/scream range is comparable to Glen Benton, David Vincent, Dani Filth and Travis Ryan. Though rap/metal crossover has been since the mid-eighties, Astaroth takes it far beyond what others have done with it, drawing inspiration from Nine Inch Nails, Slipknot, Korn, Mayhem and $uicideboy$.
Sam Astaroth has really taken Fed Up to the next level! The textures and tones on this release are phenomenal. Sam goes in on very sinister and tasteful vocal performance. Flexing his range as he goes along. The way he bounces back and fourth between different tones will keep your short human attention span focused from start to finish. I give this cover song a rating of 10/10. Sam Astaroth really cut no corners on this one.
Continuing to stretch his genre-expansive claws, Sam Astaroth is joined by Shush and Roma Jonson to bring us another terrifyingly upbeat single – “Semi-dead Status” Having boasted an array of intoxicating and unstoppable collaborations, Sam ceases to show a lack of momentum as week after week he pummels us with new and exciting concoctions.
Sam Astaroth has vocal styles that can match with nearly any genre, but he feels right at home in the Aggrotech universe that Kristof Bathory of Dawn of Ashes has to offer. Experimenting with Dark Synth, Black Metal and Industrial beats, this song is just another evolution of that sound, and Sam‘s distinctive growls and screams fits like a glove.
Influences as diverse as Eminem and Cannibal Corpse to modern artists such as Ghostemane and Ho99o9 came up as their propensity to mix heavier sounds from the Punk and Metal worlds with Hip Hop and Trap.
